A Dessert cafe in NGONG PING @ Hong Kong

Assorted Desserts / snacks - spring roll, pan-fried carrot cake, sago cake and pudding

Dear Friends,

Welcome back to my blog.

In previous articles, I mainly talked about TAI O @ Hong Kong. To enrich you guys travelling experience, in this article, I am going to talk something about NGONG PING, which is a top famous sight-seeing attraction in Hong Kong. If you guys come to Hong Kong, NGONG PING is a must-go tourist spot that you cannot afford to miss it. Here are just a few attractions in NGONG PING:

- Big Buddha
- Po Lin Monastery
- Ngong Ping Market
- Cable Car
- and more....(= my recommendation in blog..haha)

NGONG PING is near TAI O. It takes 20 min from TAI O to NGONG PING by bus. Since NGONG PING is quite a big area and today is rainy day, I only walk around Po Lin Monastery and part of Ngong Ping Market in this day trip.

So let's GO....!!

Once I get off the bus, oh gosh....it is raining and I have no rain coat / umbrella. I have to find a shelter so I run into a street snack deli near bus station. I order two desserts - one ice bean curd pudding and one ice black sesame soup. Both are very popular and also my favourite traditional Chinese desserts. I finish the desserts within 5 min as they are so delicious. Luckily, it stops raining right after I finish the desserts. Before I leave, I try a skewer of curry fish ball.

It takes five min walk from bus terminal to Po Lin Monastery.

Among the well-known spots in NGONG PING, I recommend you guys to go the vegetarian cafe, which is located in Po Lin Monastery.

By the way, there is a Big Buddha (TIAN TAN Big Buddha), which is located on the top of the mountain. I have to climb a very long stair if I go there. Since today is rainy today, I don't want to climb the stair.

Instead, I choose to go the vegetarian cafe in Po Lin Monastery, in which you can try various traditional desserts and vegetarian recipes. Being a dessert lover, I try several desserts at once, including spring roll, carrot cake (pan-fried), sago cake, sago pudding etc. All desserts are of low price and delicious.

Beside the desserts and snacks, the vegetarian cafe also provides plenty of seats in spacious area. Eating desserts / vegetarian food in such a peaceful environment may inspire you and refresh your mind.

That's why I strongly recommend you guys to try.

Visitors usually walk into the Monastery to bless the peace and safe for their families. Po Lin Monastery is a famous attraction spot for local visitors since 1924. It was built in the mountain area with poor transportation in early period. When I was a child, I visited there with my parents. At that time, there was only one bus route to go there. Being a kid at that time, I was easy to get travel sickness when travelling by bus in the mountain area.

Nowadays, NGONG PING is connected with TUNG CHUNG (town centre) by cable car. The easy transportation makes NGONG PING become an international famous sight-seeing spot, attracting both international tourists and local visitors as well.

After walking around Po Lin Monastery, I go NGONG PING Market where restaurants, Starbuck, souvenir shops and entertainment (e.g Motion 360) are available over there. Being a Starbuck fan, I definitely go Starbucks to buy a cup of coffee and then sit down to play Pokemon Go (for a while....haha).

There are lots of spots which are worth visiting in NGONG PING. Unfortunately, today is raining so I have to go home earlier.

God...let me have a sun shine next trip.
